Enhancing St. Augustine Chapel with New Lighting and Smart Controls
Upgraded LED fixtures and new smart controls drastically improved the chapel's aesthetics and brightness. With a new iPad-based system, the facility team can now easily customize the lighting for any service or event without needing specialized programming help.
Before & After

Challenge
- Existing up lights were stuck at 25% and uncontrollable
- Road vibrations caused the track lights to flicker and lose power
- The stations of the cross were not illuminated (added after the original lighting install)
- Wall station controls were functional but lacked customizability
Solution
- New wireless control system for all new and existing lights
- Replace existing track system lights (43) with new yoke-mount lights (23)
- Add new spot lights for each station of the cross
Key Results
The new wireless control system restored the ability to dim the unresponsive up lights, dramatically brightening the beautiful ceiling. Instead of rigid wall stations, the lights are now controlled from a tablet, with an easy user interface that the local staff can operate and customize.
The new yoke-mounted PAR lights are much more resiliant to vibrations from the road, eliminatng the previous flickering and outage problems with the track lighting. Illuminated key points of interest within the chapel that were previously dark with new spot lights.
