VOSS installed 48 EV chargers across multiple locations throughout Kansas City to support the new KC Fire Department electric vehicle fleet
Challenge
- In 2023, the Kansas City City Manager mandated all new vehicle purchases for the rest the year were to be electric vehicles (EVs).
- The Fire Department was set to receive 30+ Electric Vehicles, but lacked the necessary charging infrastructure to support them.
- Some locations required basic RFID chargers, while others needed advanced chargers to bill specific accounts within the Fire Department and other city entities.
Solution
- Voss recommended and implemented cable management systems for many units to prolong cable lifespan by preventing damage caused by being left on the ground and run over.
- To streamline the installation process, Voss staged the chargers and materials in our warehouse and coordinated closely with the customer to ensure timely installations at each site.
